Aide aux anes

Aide Aux Anes is a sanctuary for abandonned , neglected or ritired donkeys. It’s a sanctuary in the heart of France. Aide Aux Anes is an association. Our goal is to give donkeys a good life! We give free shelter to basically every neglected, abused or retired donkey.
We offer the donkeys care, attention and the love they so desperate need........

We started the sanctuary in november 2007 and now (August 2009) are in the care of Aide Aux Anes 36 donkeys.

Aide Aux Anes does not receive any financial support and is therefore relying on people who care a lot for animals and especially donkeys.

It also means that we pay for all costs of the primary and secondary daily needs of the donkeys. This concerns the medical expenses including those of the farrier. But also costs for food, maintenance of the stables and pastures and various equipment and materials needed.

Equine Rescue Centre

Founded in 2007, ERF is a not for profit association (Loi 1901) whose aim is to improve the welfare of equines in France through rescuing, rehabilitating, campaigning and education.

In early 2008, ERF were accredited as a Member Society of the W.S.P.A

Based in South West France and having 3 yards in each of Depts 24, 16 and 86, means that we can decide which yard best suits each equines required level of care. ERF regularly rescue horses and donkeys from maltreatment and then rehabilitate and re-homes them under long-term adoption contracts, often the process takes many months or years. ERF also offers help and support to individuals who need to re-home their equines due to changes in their circumstances – an increasing problem in these times of financial hardship.

Retraite Pres Verte

A registered charity (law 1901),Retraite Prés-Verts was created in June 2003 by Claire Vicente and is based in the Haute-Loire (dép.43) region of France. The refuge was created so as to save as many unwanted horses as it can accommodate from certain death (chained up and abandoned, sold to horse-butchers or worse…) and give them a greatly merited comfortable retirement, some of them after many years of hard work and loyal services, and others after many years of violence and abuse.

Over the years, a number of cats and dogs and most recently a goat, have found their way to the refuge where they lead a happy and carefree life. As is often the case, our refuge is not entitled to any government aid and is therefore totally dependant on the general public’s kindness and generosity. The refuge is now full, 12 horses, 6 dogs, 14 cats and 1 billy-goat!

Please visit our site and thank you in advance for any aid, no matter how small, that you will be able to give to our dearly beloved four-footed friends.
