Hundehilfe Nord Balaton Hundehilfe Nord Balaton - Hungaria
The foundation for Dog Aid Northern Balaton was laid in 1999 when Inga-Verena and Klaus Wagner decided to build their own small private dog shelter in Hungary. By 2007, their shelter had grown in size and scope and was duly registered as a non-profit organisation.
Inga-Verena and Klaus set themselves the overriding goal of caring for abandoned and, in part, badly injured homeless dogs living on the streets of Hungary. In addition, they help old and chronically ill dogs, as well as stray pups. Dogs suffering from severe injuries and illnesses are taken to the shelter and given medical treatment. All of the dogs in the shelter are de-wormed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and, if possible, neutered. Another important facet of the work of Dog Aid Northern Balaton is educating the Hungarian population in the proper and humane care of domestic animals. Particular emphasis is placed on the necessity of neutering pet dogs and cats. A campaign has also been launched to discourage people from keeping their dogs chained up. In the autumn of 2008, Inga-Verena and Klaus Wagner approached the Mayor and municipal authorities of Balatonfüred in Hungary. Their aim was to obtain permission to convert the existing dog killing centre there into a dog shelter, to be managed by Dog Aid Northern Balaton. Finally, after months of negotiation, permission was granted in August 2009. In October 2009, the first modular dog runs and kennels arrived, enabling the Wagners to start constructing the projected shelter. How quickly this work will progress depends on further funding for the purchase of new modules. www.hundehilfe-nordbalaton.eu / www.zavetisce-horjul.nl Ezelbrug
I am Marjo Bruijnes and live for 4 years in Hungary.I love animals and see here a lot of animalabusing.A few years ago I decided to start a horse and donkey shelter for abused animals. The name of the shelter is "Ezelbrug".This because I make a bridge for a better live, something like the Rainbowbridge, but than for living animals. It started whit an old Dalmatier whit a wound of 20 cm.The owner wants to shoot him.Pongo whent last month over the Rainbowbridge.I give him 4 good years,he was 18 when he died. After Pongo become soon a donkey whit a bad treaded broken leg.He is about 30 years old and lives now for 4 years on Ezelbrug.Ther come regulary new animals to the shelter, beside of that ther is a group of permanent animals that live here.
