The Cat rescue Sanctuary is a new charity established in 2006, to rescue and house homeless cats, to give them the proper medical care needed and to protect them.
Our sanctuary is located in the heart of citrus orchards in Central Israel and is home to between 300 – 400 abandoned cats and several dogs. Most of our animals were victims of the Second Lebanese War and the Disengagement from the Gaza Strip.
We offer a home to any cat who needs one, be he or she old, young, healthy or injured – we aren’t prejudiced we love them all.
Our sanctuary is securely fenced and our cats are free to roam between their houses (plastic sheds) and their play areas.
On rainy days they find shelter in large enclosed areas full of mattresses, cushions and blankets.
There’s nothing more rewarding than to see how calm and contented the cats are; how far they’ve come from the fight for survival on the streets; how “unafraid” they’ve become of visitors to the sanctuary because they know that no-one can harm them now and that they are safe.
