News from Mary Brown - Uruguay
it's been like a miracle, went into the link and saw some of my dogs there and my heart jumpped. thank you and God bless you and AMCF.
Now I wish to share the worst horse rescue I made and could save from terrifying mistreatment here in Uruguay. I presented a denounce at the police Station to ave Emanuel, he was all the time being hit with chains, logs over his head, was completely blind from one eye and could just see a little with his other eye. I will attatch the denounce which is in Spanish but is extremely clear all the cruelty he had to stand. He also suffered of epilepsy, all his blindness and epilepsy caused by cruelty. He was obliged to pull from a cart all day long, he was very skinny when I rescued him, he was also very frecuently wet and electrocuted by his owner. Every now and then he went through attacks. thanks to all the medicine, food, freedom, shed, he became fat, and more confident, he was also very scared when we tried to touch him. A few months ago, when he was completely recovered but still blind and no longer with epilepsy attacks, we gave him into adoption, he is now free but looked after, at a farm in Florida department.
Now, the worst dog case we rescued. His name is Rey, he was 6 months old, he had an owner who kept him tied up all the time in terrible conditions, absolutely skinny, she used to hit him on his head being tied up. We rescued him un June 05, and at the beginning when we fed him, he used to attack his food, also attacked the water we gave him as if he was fighting against another dog, he is completely blind because of mistreatment, he is now a confident dog, his mind is more stable now and when we play with him he runs all over trotting like a pony, he no longer attacks his food and can be touched without any problem, he is still with us, since he is blind nobody wishes to adopt him. dogs lacking a leg I have Cabeza, Snook, Collie, Shark, Gina had been shot and had a fracture in her vertebral chord, she could move her legs though, after a week of treatment. My vet diego Caraballo, made a surgery on her vertebral chord and after 2 months she started to walk, and is free and playfull, but will never find a home because she walks strangely, Jesus, had his 4 leg fractured after a car crash, received surgery in his 4 legs, he is fine, walks and runs, but his legs aren't in a perfect shape. Roy was car crashed in Pando years ago, when he was just 2 and a half months old, he had both rear legs fratured. No bone surgery could be made because of his age, so he recovered completely, but his rear legs have a strange shape. Cristal was abandonned at Animal Help's gate 5 years ago when she was 2 months old, both rear legs have a malformation from birth, she can't walk on her 4 leg, she sometime stands up, but she lifts her body with her front legs and goes all over the place this way and plays with the other dogs. Floppy was abandonned in Pando, she is blind, she was in the middle of the street one night almost a year ago, she was pregnant, she had her puppies here and now she is castrated but being so tiny and nice, will probably not be adopted. Chippy is a greyhound, had been car crashed, he was brought to Animal Help when Birgitta Machielse was with us. His front leg had to be cut off. We also have very old dogs, which have almost no oportunity to find a home. We also have dogs completely recovered waiting to be adopted and some new ones in recovery.
Thank you for all you do,
love,
Mary Brown
