Qatar Animal Welfare Society;

Established in 2003, QAWS is the only animal rescue facility in the State of Qatar. Catering mainly to abandoned, abused and neglected cats and dogs, QAWS also find themselves involved in other areas ie. farm animal, zoo animals and other exotic pets. Currently struggling to obtain recognition and government support, QAWS is reliant totally on the generosity of the local community and outside organisations.

QAWS runs purely on a small number of volunteers. Our existing facilities house cats, dogs, donkeys, a bull and numerous farm birds, all rescued from various situations. We have a permanent waiting list of animals to come into the shelter and maintain a large number of animals living on building sites, beaches and on the streets until space is available or a temporary foster home is found. Expansion is desperately required and will enable us to rehabilitate and rehome even more animals.

QAWS will continue to strive to help all animals in need in the State of Qatar.
