Hiermee wil Stichting Fuertedogs de vrienden van AMCF hartelijk bedanken voor het sponsoren van de sterilisatie van CATOOTJE.  Na jarenlang geisoleerd te hebben ´geleefd´ op een dakterras met 60 andere verwaarloosde hondjes werd Catootje in het dodingstation gedumpt. Catootje verblijft sinds januari 2008 op de Fuertedogs finca, waar deze wereldvreemde bange muis de kans krijgt om in haar eigen tempo de wereld te leren kennen en vertrouwen. Catootje kon afgelopen vrijdag  12 december 2008 dankzij de zeer welkome donatie van AMCF gesteriliseerd worden en maakt het goed. Veel dank daarvoor dus aan AMCF,

Beste Amcf:

Mede dankzij jullie hulp is het voor Stichting RedCat dit jaar weer mogelijk geweest om 757 katten en 21 honden op te vangen! Jullie spullen zijn allemaal in gebruik, en helpen ons om van al onze dieren blije, gezonde dieren te maken, die weer aan een nieuwe start kunnen beginnen bij hun nieuwe baasjes.

I have news for you , we received two more books ,
one about X-ray ( VERY IMPORTANT BOOK) and the other about ( Farm Animals) both made the 3 vets really happy , they were pushing each others to read the books. Thank you my dear Betty , this is really a big help for us, the more the vets know the more they can help these poor animals.

Hierbij een foto waarbij Dodou Bojang van Gambicats de cefaral tabletten in ontvangst neemt.   Frances en Gambicats zijn erg blij met deze donatie want in Gambia kan werkelijk alles gebruikt worden. Hi Betty, I got the package today, thanks very much. I can use a lot of these things and thanks for sending me toys not easily chewed up as I requested.. I enclose here the photo.   Things are as always here; now that we have no flights from Corfu it is difficult if not impossible to get the dogs out of Greece and we don't stop getting new ones because of this. Just this week I got 2 lots of puppies found inside  rubbish bins. Plus the constant stream of older dogs put over our fence. Anyway we keep on and hope for a transport.

 The books arrived today directly to my house in Zamalek , wonderful books that will help a lot thevets in SPARE , what they do is photocopy these books and take them home and we keep the original in SPARE shelter. God bless you , if  you knew how expensive these books are in Egypt you would be shocked , very expensive and also very very difficult to find . I will take them tomorrow to the vets they will be thrilled. . Kiss you and thank you love Amina SPARE Egypte

THE PARCEL HAS ARRIVED!
Brilliant thank you so much for the supplies, the leads and bowls are being used now!
The bandages and gloves will be used shorlty, and the toys are already giving dogs in kennels some quality playtime! Thanks also for the medication we have a dog that is already using Prednoral so it will be very useful.
Thanks again for helping us down here in Spain Betty it really is much appreciated.
If you ever get any old flea and tick treatments in, these too would be fantastic.

Dearest Betty,
Only this Friday I received a note from the post office to pick up your package.
Upon opening it – I can not begin to tell u – how happy I was to discover all those fantastic toys, blankets, pillows, bowls, scratching pole, feeding bottles and other medical items.
What a wonderful donation!!!!!!!!!!
This time, however, I am going to dedicate most of the stuff to our foster homes where they need those particular blankets and pillows for the newly born since it is winter here, as well as the little toys made for kittens who stay there as well until they are two months old.
The rest I shall put at our shelter and I am sure our vet will be pleased with the pads and the bandages.
Thank u time and time again for your lovable box and hope to read from u any time good for you.

Dear AMCF-friends / Betty Mercey

Hereby I would like to thank all the AMCF-friends and particulary Betty Mercey for the big box full of very useful donated things. The package arrived at the Fuertedogs finca 4 weeks after it had been posted. We are very grateful to have actually received it.

Alltogether it was a very generous amount of things such as medicines (epical, prednoral, findiar,furosal, cefaral) bandages, special scissors, coolmats, brushes, exil fleaspray, cathersets, towels, feeding trays and lots of dogtoys.

The photos speak for themselves. So on behalf of our 47 dogs we want to thank everybody, companies, schools and organisations who have so generously donated things to AMCF.  It´s through them that AMCF is able to do the wonderful job of supporting the amazing number of 29 shelters.

It isn´t always easy to live here at Fuerteventura on a very primitive finca with all these abandonated doggies. That´s why support like that of the AMCF and their connected people and organisations, who are trying to make a difference by helping shelters like mine, is very inspiring.

So again, many thanks to all.

Het was een feest om vandaag het pakket open te maken en te zien wat er allemaal in zat. We kunnen alle spullen heel goed gebruiken. De vliegenmaskers zijn prima geschikt voor hier en alle verzorgingsspullen zijn erg goed. Ik wil jullie heel hartelijk danken voor deze gift. Het is niet alleen de inhoud die zo belangrijk is, maar ook het feit dat er mensen ergens anders zijn die zich interesseren voor wat we hier proberen te doen en dat is een enorme opsteker. Ik stuur een paar foto's mee (je ziet mijn blije gezicht wel, wanneer ik met hulp van hond en kat de doos uitpak!) en ga nu een stukje maken voor zowel de hyves-site als de Blue-Horses site. Beste AMCF,

Alles is binnen. Dank jullie wel voor dit alles. De kleine knagers zijn al lekker met de bolletjes bezig en we hebben direct weer een aantal konijnen kunnen enten. Hierbij wat foto's van een aantal van de spullen, die we via jullie
geschonken hebben gekregen. Wij en zeker onze opvangdieren zijn er erg blij mee en we willen dan ook iedereen, die er aan meegewerkt heeft van harte bedanken voor de steun. In de  komende tijd zullen we die steun nog  harder nodig hebben , dan nu al het geval is.

De hooiballetjes waren erg in trek en ook de nagelschaar hebben we direct in mogen zetten.

We consider the daily expenses and the upkeep of the shelter as the most important part of animal welfare.  Thus, your donation box with all the essential materials has been of great inspiration and motivation for us.  We do have many outdoor projects going on and more with the natural disaster but our shelter is the main activity to provide the life treatment and care.   At this time of great economic recession having a toll also on our costs increase in essential items your donation is of great value and critical for our help to the animals reaching out to the challenges in this part of the world where animal welfare is least considered.

Graag willen wij het AMCF bedanken voor het pakket met medicatie en andere spullen.
Momenteel hebben wij een aantal dieren die wij hiermee goed kunnen helpen.
Een voorbeeld is Pasja.
Een kruising herder die wij na een tip bij iemand weg hebben gehaald.
Zij leefde samen met haar pup in een klein kamertje en was ernstig verwaarloosd.
Ook haar pup was er erg slecht aan toe.
Pasja heeft jaren met vlooien moeten leven en daardoor vreselijke jeuk gehad.
Dit heeft als gevolg dat zij nu een soort fantoomjeuk heeft.
Hoewel zij geen aanleiding heeft om te bijten en te krabben doet zij dit toch regelmatig.
Haar lichaam is daardoor erg kaal, door het verleden heeft zij tevens een soort olifantenhuid gekregen en daar groeit geen haar meer.
Pasja is door meerdere artsen bekeken en allen zijn tot de conclusie gekomen dat het tussen de oren moet zitten.

Pasja leeft op prednison om haar te ondersteunen in de overige aandoeningen die zij heeft. Daarom waren wij ook erg blij met de medicatie die wij ontvingen.
Hiermee kunnen wij Pasja langere tijd helpen.
Natuurlijk was er de overweging om haar te laten inslapen maar Pasja heeft heel veel plezier in dingen en wij gunnen haar graag nog een leuke tijd na een hel van minstens 9 jaar.

Over 4 weken krijgen wij drie honden uit Hongarije die achtergelaten zijn.
Deze dieren hebben van de honger elkaar aangevreten en wij zullen dus veel tijd moeten steken in het herstellen van hun lichamelijk maar vooral geestelijke schade.
De ondersteuning die wij nu krijgen helpt ons om dit werk een stuk makkelijker te maken.

Dear AMCF team   I was delighted to receive the box of goodies from AMCF.  Sorry that Bahrain Post took so long to deliver it!   As you can see from the photos, the leads are already being put to good use and it was hard to keep the dogs away from all the toys!  The medicines will be useful too (though in a way, I hope not.....).     I cannot thank you enough for your generosity.  I'm sure if my animals could talk they'd say the same.   With best wishes

Pirate is a wonder full dog and is doing fine,as you will see on the video. she;s become  a celebrity,and everyone loves her.

Beste mensen van de AMCF,

  vandaag arriveerde hier een hele grote doos met allerlei spulletjes waar we je (als we dat tenminste mogen zeggen) en al degenen, die er aan meegewerkt hebben, heel dankbaar voor zijn!!

Onze hondjes (8 in getal) en onze katten (18 stuks), ook allemaal met een verleden en/of een handicap, zullen er erg blij mee zijn, al zitten ze niet allemaal te springen om bijvoorbeeld gekamd te worden..... , maar dan zijn er wel weer speeltjes! De enkele dingen, die wij niet kunnen gebruiken (of waar wij op dit moment genoeg van hebben) geven wij door aan het kleine asiel in Skala Eressou (ook hier op het eiland), wat gerund wordt door 1 Nederlandse en 2 Engelse vrouwen. Zij hebben ruimte voor 6 honden, maar hebben er meestal zo'n 20 rondlopen!

Wij zijn in eerste instantie voor de wilde dieren (we hebben dan ook o.a. heel veel vogels zitten), maar kunnen onze ogen niet sluiten voor honden en katten en doen daarvoor wat in ons vermogen ligt!

Nogmaals heel veel dank en heel veel succes met alles wat je doet!
