Only 4 months to=20 go - 124 days to be exact! The = Website=20 Events Diary is now open so please send us = information=20 about events being held in your country as = soon as=20 you can.

Since writing to = you in=20 April, we've appointed a further 3 Ambassadors = bring the=20 total to 71 covering 63 countries. = Naturally,=20 we are absolutely delighted! We welcome = Hannele=20 Luukkainen - Finland, Femke den Haas - = Indonesia,=20 and Christine Bork who has joined Patricia=20 Artimana in Costa Rica. =20

I=20 expect many of you have already started=20 contacting groups that are likely to be = interested=20 in getting involved in World Animal Day this = year. =20 As well as animal-related groups and = organisations, it's=20 also a great idea to contact community groups; = youth=20 groups; children's clubs, schools and local=20 councils. You may also have thought of=20 contacting some of the large organisations in your = area,=20 as the website includes ideas suitable for = the=20 workplace.   You never know, one of = those=20 large organisations might be willing = to sponsor a=20 World Animal Day event in some way, in return = for=20 the opportunity to advertise. =20

Don't=20 forget to send us information about=20 events for inclusion in the online=20 diary. Events=20 don't have to take place on World Animal Day = itself - as=20 long as they are being advertised as World Animal = Day=20 events, they can take place up to two weeks either = side=20 of 4^th=20 October.

As=20 mentioned in my April email, due to strict time=20 constraints put upon me to manage this = project, it=20 would be very helpful if, after World Animal=20 Day, you could collect reports and images for = all=20 the events that take place in your country. =20 Then email me one long report covering all = the=20 events accompanied by several images for each = event=20 where available. Many=20 thanks.

I=20 know I've mentioned this before (probably more = than=20 once!) but we are very keen to gain the=20 support of celebrities from around the = world, so=20 we'd really appreciate it if you could help us=20 achieve this by contacting celebrities = in your=20 country and asking for their=20 = endorsement.  We=20 need the celebrities to write a short paragraph=20 expressing their support for the World Animal = Day=20 initiative and a photograph of themselves in JPG.=20 format. It would probably be helpful if you take a = look=20 at the Celebrity Support page on the website to = see what=20 others have = done.

Getting=20 information about World Animal=20 Day published in a newsletter or on a = website=20 is also a great way to raise awareness so = have a=20 think about who you know that might be able=20 to help you with this. =20
